The Cherry Orchard is the production of Anton Chekhov’s play by Mihalis Kakogiannis. It is the story of a wealthy family in 1900 Russia, a time of social and political revolution, who own a country estate with a beautiful cherry orchard. Its a story about having wealth and priviledges and then losing it all. Other than the beautiful cinematography and amazing costumes along with Gerard Butler’s character of the family servant Yasha, I found the movie to a bit boring.

This was a long movie, but quite good. Gerry plays the part of a peasant (I think his name is Sasha, not sure). He works for an upper class family. His mother keeps coming to visit and he doesn’t want to see her. He does see her, but he is quite put out about it. Still, he is a cute character and quite the ladies man.
